| Gift of Gracie, was developed with the mission to provide warm, literacy-rich environments that foster a love of reading while adding comfort,escape and entertainment for patients at The Children's Hospital. Gift of Gracie is named after Gracie Peterson, who was born with a rare syndrome in January 2007. Despite her medical setbacks, Gracie is thriving today because of the exceptional surgical and outpatient care provided by The Children's Hospital. The overall, ongoing need for new books at The Children's Hospital is great. Currently, the hospital utilizes 1,000 books per month in its clinics and satellite locations. |
